Children’s Liturgy of the Word

The purpose of the Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to enrich our children’s liturgical experience of God’s presence in the ritual proclamation of the Word.
- It emphasizes liturgical in contrast to catechetical or “church school” experience
- The children are actually attending Mass: they are experiencing the Liturgy of the Word in terms and experiences that are understandable to them.
- At the Liturgy of the Eucharist they return to their families.
- They hear the same readings proclaimed at Mass as their families, but written in a style for them to better understand.
Liturgy of the Word is offered on Sunday morning’s at 9:30 a.m.
